The chart-topping pop star celebrated her latest birthday – which she claimed on her social media was her fifth birthday – on Monday, and to mark the occasion, Britney jetted off to Mexico for a sun-filled vacation.
The star, 43, revealed on her Instagram that she moved to Mexico, in a candid video shared on Monday night.
A source told PEOPLE: ‘Britney treated herself to a fun vacation for her birthday.’
‘She loves Mexico and can’t wait to celebrate in the sun,’ the insider added.

The princess of pop shared a playful Instagram video on her birthday, knocking off a year of her real age and also pretending to be five years old: ”It’s my birthday. I’m not turning 42 this year, I’m turning five years old, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.’
Earlier in the day, Britney gave her social media followers a behind-the-scenes look at her birthday celebrations, revealing that she was enjoying ‘delicious wine’ before having dinner.
The pop star subsequently took to Instagram to reveal that she had a ‘very cute’ birthday cake that was topped with chocolate lattice and strawberries.
Her birthday festivities come the same day as she was declared legally single – seven months after finalizing her divorce from Sam Asghari per TMZ.
Britney and Sam, 30, previously had a prenup before walking down the aisle in June 2022.
The outlet reporting that he left their 14 month marriage with ‘virtually nothing.’
He filed for divorce in August 2023.
The pop star previously took to social media to admit that she was ‘a little shocked’ about their break-up.
Britney wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together.
Adding: ‘Six years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business. But, I couldn’t take the pain any more, honestly.’

The pop star continued: ‘I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but for some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses.’
