BRITs 2018: Louisa Johnson teases torso in emerald gown

She won The X Factor under the tutelage of Rita Ora, beating rival judge Cheryl, in 2015.

But Louisa Johnson showed she can hold her own, without the help of either pop star mentor on Wednesday night as she arrived at the BRIT Awards 2018 at London’s O2 Arena.

Rocking up in a metallic emerald dress, Louisa turned heads in the gown, which featured a variety of intricate cut-outs, teasing her torso and her lean pins.

A cut (out) above the rest! Louisa Johnson teased her torso and lean pins in a plunging metallic green gown leaving little to the imagination… as she arrived on the BRITs red carpet

The 20-year-old Best Behaviour singer showcased her lithe physique in the floor-length gown which perfectly flashed hints of her torso and her deeply tanned limbs.

The plunging neckline offered a daring edge to the look and she added a matching pair of strappy heels to the emerald ensemble.

The gown flashed Louisa’s naked back and she clutched a white rose in honour of the #metoo movement, showing her support for women who have been sexually harassed in the arts.

Louisa wore her silvery blonde hair loosely around her shoulders in light waves and added nude gloss to her lips as she beamed for the cameras.

The stars were out in force on Wednesday night for the BRITS 2018 Awards, held at London’s O2 Arena.

Hosted by Jack Whitehall, fans will see performances from the likes of Clean Bandit, J Hus, Jorja Smith and Stormzy, Liam Payne and Paloma Faith.

Dua Lipa, 22, leads the nominations with five nods, with Ed Sheeran, 27, hot on her heels with four. Sam Smith has been left out completely, in one of the biggest award snubs in history.

There could be a spot of awkwardness on the night as former One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne will go head to head in the category of British Artist Video Of The Year.

The winner of the British Artist Video award will be decided by the public, with one of the 10 acts eliminated each week until there are only five left on the night of the awards.

Dua Lipa is up for British Female, British Breakthrough, British Single, British Artist Video of the Year and the prestigious Mastercard British Album of the Year for her self-titled Top Ten debut, which produced the No. 1 single New Rules and three more Top 40 singles.

Ed Sheeran is up for British Male Solo Artist, British Single, Mastercard British Album of the Year and British Artist Video of the Year.

The international categories see huge megastars including Drake, Beck, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Killers, Kendrick Lamar and main show performers Foo Fighters up for awards, as well as Bjork’s ninth BRIT nomination for Best International Female.

Some BRIT Awards categories have already had their winners announced, as Jorja Smith won Critics’ Choice, while Steve Mac was named the Producer of the Year.

Jason Iley, BRITs Chairman and Chairman & CEO of Sony Music UK and Ireland said: ‘This year’s nominations, as well as the incredible performances on our launch show tonight, are representative of an exciting, genre spanning and vibrant year in British music with a strong mix of established acts alongside new and emerging artists who are set to become the big names of the future.’
