A woman from New Zealand has horrified Britons after a video of her eating a Terry’s Chocolate Orange for the first time went viral. 

Jazz Thornton shared a TikTok clip where she carefully unwrapped the British treat before attempting to break apart the segments from the orange.

However rather than ‘whacking’ the orange, she ended up taking a bite directly out of the chocolate ball, captioning the video: ‘I think I did that very wrong.’

The video quickly went viral online, amassing 1.3 million views, with many Brits commenting they were shocked by her method.

In the video clip, Jazz said: ‘My friend from England brought me back this Terry’s Orange thing and I just unboxed it earlier and everyone was like “You must try it!”‘

‘I’ve never had it before. It’s quite heavy, I thought it would be like a shell.’

However she immediately appeared perplexed about the best way to eat the orange, and could be seen trying to remoe the orange segments with her fingers.

She asked the camera: ‘How do you…how does one…oh it’s like little orange slices!’

‘I thought okay, it was slices but maybe it’s not.’

After struggling to prize open the orange, she opted instead to bite into the orange directly, before saying: ‘It’s definitely a slice!’ 

She added: ‘Oh good god that’s good!’ 

However despite her enjoyment of the chocolate treat, many Brits were left stunned by her eating method.

Many were left referencing the famous Terry’s Chocolate Orange advert, with one commenting: ‘I could hear so many people chorusing ‘you whack it on the table’.’

A second wrote: ‘Every Brit watching this screamed HIT IT ON THE TABLE.’

A third reminded her of a classic advert – which she’s definitely never seen – adding: ‘Don’t just tap it, whack it was an advert from my childhood.’

Others were just as baffled by her method of taking a full bite from the orange, with one adding: ‘I actually gasped when she bite into it.’

‘The whole of England cried when she bit into it,’ another commented.  

Another said: ‘Someone taking a full bite of a Terry’s chocolate orange is one of the most cursed things.’

A fourth person wrote: ‘YOU DID NOT JUST BITE INTO IT!’

‘Everyone in the comments collectively died in that instant,’ another commented.
