The brother of an NRL star is back behind bars with his parole revoked less than a year after completing a jail term for causing a horrific crash that killed a mother-of-three.

The 63-year-old mother-of-three was killed and another woman was injured when Xerri’s car collided with a second vehicle before coming to rest on a utility pole.

After pleading guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, Xerri was sentenced to three years and nine months imprisonment with a non-parole period of two years and four months.

Ms Duke’s husband slammed the sentence as ‘disgusting’ and ‘paltry’, and other members of the family labelled Xerri ‘a coward’ for not stopping to help her.

The 32-year-old had been serving the remainder of his parole period in the community when he was charged in July over a violent home invasion in Sydney’s inner city.

Police allege he broke into an apartment at Wattle Crescent in Pyrmont on the evening of May 21 when the occupant Atitad Romchampa was home.

According to court documents, Xerri allegedly attacked Mr Romchampa and left him with injuries amounting to grievous bodily harm.

He was charged on July 3 with breaking and entering a dwelling and inflicting grievous bodily harm and taken into custody.

He returned to the sport in April, making his club debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs in their round five victory over the Sydney Roosters.
