Brooke Blurton’s best friend reveals doubts about Nick Cummins

Brooke Blurton introduced Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins to her friends and family during home visits on Thursday’s episode of The Bachelor.

And her best friend Tess grilled the international rugby star on his intentions with the 23-year-old.

Tess said she struggled with the idea of finding love on reality TV.

Firing questions: Brooke Blurton’s best-friend Tess grilled Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins during a tense hometown visit in Brooke’s native Perth

‘Nothing about it is natural, it’s not the way you meet, it’s not the way you go on dates,’ she said.

‘It’s spontaneous in a way because you don’t know what’s going to happen. But is it real? I don’t know?’

At the dinner table, Tess went right in and asked all the hard questions and subsequently, Nick could barely get a bite of spaghetti in.

She asked: ‘Do you travel a lot when you’re playing? Like how are you going to try and maintain a relationship – do you know what I mean?’

The hard questions didn’t stop there with Tess whisking him away to the library room for a serious conversation about his feelings for the kind-hearted social worker.

She asked him if he had pictured a life with Brooke, to which Nick revealed how he has imagined their relationship would work on the outside.

‘I’ve envisioned how it would be with Perth and Sydney, I’ve actually envisioned her coming over (to Sydney).’

Serious: 'My concern is with Brooke, she's a girl who really needs stability. It's something she hasn't had and has been up and down in her life. You need to be that rock for her emotionally'

She asked, ‘So are you ready to be that for her?’

Rocked by the seriousness of her question, Nick said: ‘If I can’t offer her that, then I won’t choose, I won’t do this. I’d only be doing her and myself a disservice and wasting both of our times. ‘

At the end of Nick’s time in Perth, Brook broke down in tears in a side interview and revealed: ‘I’m kind of scared of the thought that I won’t ever get that with someone again.’

‘But you do have to think about it, And he’s going to be doing that with three other girls who probably feel the exact same,’ she said as she wiped away the tears.

The Bachelor continues next Wednesday, on Channel 10 at 7.30pm
