Brooke Boney and Karl Stefanovic get the giggles on Today

Brooke Boney hits back at Karl Stefanovic with a hilarious dig after he makes a joke about certain household chores being ‘mum jobs’

Channel Nine’s Today show is known for its light and frivolous format.

So it was no surprise to see host Karl Stefanovic and entertainment reporter Brooke Boney get the giggles during a segment on Wednesday’s show.

The laughter started when the Today show crew, which also includes Ally Langdon, discussed fighting with their siblings as children.

Brooke, 34, revealed that she and her brothers and sisters would often play-fight using the vacuum cleaner pipe as kids.

Karl then joked that his family couldn’t afford a fancy vacuum cleaner, and that he and his brothers had to ‘suck the dirt off the floor with our mouths’.

The conversation later changed to domestic duties, with Karl saying that there are some household chores that are ‘mum jobs’.

‘Can someone grab a vacuum cleaner pipe?’ Brooke shouted, obviously joking that she wanted to hit Karl with it.

‘Brooke wants to put it away somewhere!’ Karl joked, before the panel burst into laughter again.

Karl and Brooke are known for their hilarious chemistry and funny banter on the air.

Back in May, they bonded over their mutual hate of the sitcom Friends.

‘It’s hard for me to pretend that I like Friends. You guys know I’m a Seinfeld girl,’ Brooke told co-hosts Karl and Allison.

Karl, 46, then admitted he knew exactly how Brooke felt, saying: ‘Oh, thank God I’m not alone! That’s the worst show.’

With both her colleagues slamming the popular ’90s sitcom, Allison said she felt like it was up to her to ‘defend it’.

But she seemed equally as unenthused about the reunion special, giving Brooke a telling side-eye glance.
