An Aussie mum has died while overseas just days after sharing happy snaps of the trip to Thailand she took with friends.

Queensland mum-of-two Brooke Coates died suddenly and unexpectedly last week.

The mum’s devastated family announced her death on March 28, the same day a massive earthquake hit Thailand, Myanmar and parts of China.

It remains unclear how Ms Coates died.

Ms Coates, believed to be from near Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast, left behind her heartbroken partner and two young children aged seven and three.

Family members struggling to come to terms with the mum’s death are now desperate to recover her body from overseas.

The family has launched a GoFundMe to raise money so they can bring her body home for a funeral.
Ms Coates’ heartbroken sister Shannen Langcake posted a tribute to her late sibling online.

‘Our hearts are broken as we navigate the unexpected loss of our beloved Brooke,’ she wrote.

‘During this difficult time, Candy, David (and) family are faced with the urgent need to travel overseas to bring her home and arrange for her funeral.

‘We are reaching out for support to help cover the overwhelming costs of international travel, transportation, and many more expenses.’

Ms Langcake said any contribution ‘big or small’ will be used to help ‘ease the financial burden’ on the family.

‘Brooke is lovingly remembered by her children, who are the centre of everyone’s thoughts and support during this difficult time,’ she said.

‘We deeply appreciate your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this heartbreaking time.’

The fundraiser had collected almost $14,000 since it was launched on March 28.

Friends of the family also posted tributes on social media.
