A Brooklyn man snuck through a New York Police Department station and managed to get his hands on a police uniform before pretending he was an officer, according to local authorities.

Baruch Ezagui, 28, is accused of ransacking a cop’s locker at the 71st Precinct in Crown on Christmas Eve.

The former photographer told authorities that he had been sent from One Police Plaza, the New York Post reports.

Ezagui was spotted by an officer inside a men’s locker room stepping inside a pair of NYPD boots and putting on a department turtleneck at around 8.10pm.

He was said to have then pulled out a duffel bag that had an NYPD shirt and two batons inside.

When confronted by officers, the 28-year-old reportedly said: ‘I am being promoted to detective I work at One Police Plaza.’

A criminal complaint states that the fake officer escaped from the precinct house’s kitchen but added that he returned later.

Another officer shared that they saw the suspect in a women’s locker room.

It is unknown how long Ezagui was inside the precinct or how he got inside.

When police detained Ezagui, they found crack cocaine and a crack pipe on his possession.

The man was charged with burglary, criminal impersonation of  police officer and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

As of Christmas Day, Ezagui was still claiming to be a police officer.

Ezagui is currently being held on $15,000 bail and during his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court, the judge expressed his annoyance with the man’s return to court – as he had just been given supervised release from a December 22 incident.

Judge Hilary Gingold said that Ezagui was ‘a very troubled young man.’
