Bruno Fernandes FUMES at referee Michael Oliver after Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford… as Rasmus Hojlund’s absence felt by Erik Ten Hag’s side

Bruno Fernandes was far from happy with referee Michael Oliver at the full-time whistle at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Portuguese playmaker appeared to be fuming at Oliver, with the captain vocalising his frustration at the full-time whistle.

Manchester United went 1-0 down after X Bassey’s opener in the second half, though they found an equaliser through Harry Maguire in the closing minutes.

Into the last kicks of stoppage time, Alex Iwobi found the back of the net to cancel out Maguire’s efforts, ending in a 2-1 defeat for the hosts.

Joined by gaffer Erik Ten Hag, Fernandes appeared to be pleading with Oliver about some of his on-field decisions.

Things were looking up for the Red Devils with the side in red-hot form, though the signs of recovery were trampled underfoot by an effervescent Fulham.

Erik ten Hag’s side were on a run of six wins and a draw from seven games in 2024, but it was brought to a halt by Fulham’s first win in the Premier League here in 17 attempts, dating back to 2003.

This was also the Londoners’ first away win in the league since the opening day of the season after Alex Iwobi fired a dramatic winner in the seventh minute of injury-time.

Harry Maguire escaped a red card early on with a nasty tackle on Sasa Lukic, as Michael Oliver issued just a yellow for the clash.
