Bruno Tonioli and Diversity’s Ashley Banjo arrive at the first Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final

Bruno Tonioli and Ashley Banjo arrived at the Hammersmith Apollo on Monday for the first Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final of the series.

New judge Bruno, 67, looked excited from the backseat of his car, sporting a grey and white striped zip-up hoodie.

He added a pair of matching jogging bottoms and a plain white T-shirt, while hiding behind a pair of sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Diversity star Ashley, 34, cut a casual figure in a plain black T-shirt and coordinating backwards baseball cap.

He was joined by his fellow Diversity member Perri Kiely, who dressed for the summer heat in a simple white graphic T-shirt and a pair of black shorts.

He added a pair of bright white trainers and matching socks, while his long hair was in neat braids.

Perri shielded his eyes from the glare of the sun behind a pair of brown oversized sunglasses.

The pair are no strangers to Britain’s Got Talent, having shot to fame on the show in 2009.

They eventually were crowned the winners, beating off stiff competition from acts such as Susan Boyle.

It comes after Bruno took a swipe at his former Strictly Come Dancing co-stars, during Saturday night’s instalment of BGT.

The star, who switched the BBC ballroom show for the ITV competition, praised his new colleagues: Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

But in doing so, he somewhat dismissed his former Strictly co-stars – including Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse as lesser-than.

Bruno told the BGT audience: ‘They say you’re only as good as the people you work with, and these people are the best.’

Previously, when asked whether BGT was bigger than Strictly, the sassy star replied: ‘This is the biggest show on TV — I mean it, it is now that I’m here!’

‘This is the biggest show on British TV, now that I’m here,’ he told press after his debut, but added that Strictly had ‘changed his life’.

Bruno starred on Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 until 2019, Anton Du Beke stepped in for him as a judge during the COVID-19 pandemic before replacing him permanently in 2022.

He then replaced former BGT panellist David Walliams, 51, on the panel this series after the comedian made sexual remarks towards contestants last year, for which he apologised before stepping down from the show.
