One commented: ‘He’s like a mini Jamie!’

Another added: ‘I love that he washed his hands after touching the dog. Good job Buddy.

‘He is a real talent in front of the camera! So cute! I’m definitely trying this recipe.’

A fourth wrote: ‘Amazing!! If Buddy can cook, I don’t understand why my husband can’t??’

A fifth commented: ‘Well done Buddy, you’re such a sweet kid…Mum and Dad did well with you.’

Another said: ‘That’s a 10/10 Buddy.’

In the clip, Buddy can be seen carefully chopping up the ingredients, calling the recipe ‘super simple.’

He added coriander, chickpeas, frozen peas, paprika, flour and zest of a lemon before blending the mixture together.

He said: ‘I’ve got my helper Conker here today who is going to help here today.’

He went on to ask if his followers had cooked with their pets before, adding: ‘Send in your pictures!’

He divided the mixture into four balls, before flattening the patties and adding it to a heated pan.

While the burgers were cooking, the 12-year-old whipped up a healthy cabbage slaw.

After building his burger, he said he would give the burger a 9 out of 10, saying: ‘Now go away, I need to eat my burger!’

The clip was posted on Jamie’s Instagram page, alongside the captio: ‘One to try with the kids this weekend, Buddy’s super veggie burgers with a guest appearance from Conker too haha.

‘These patties are brilliantly simple for kids to knock up, and it’s a good chance for them to experiment with different flavours and topping combos which is so important from a young age. ‘

It comes after experts analysed Buddy’s techniques and contrasted them with fellow nepo-baby chef Brooklyn’s drastically different ability.

Speaking to FEMAIL, the chef was full of admiration for the primary school student’s chopping skills.

The expert continued: ‘Buddy holds his knife with the confidence of someone much older, and gives advice without any self doubt or insecurity.

‘This can only come from practice and repetition.’

He then used a ‘cross-chop method’ to chop the leeks into smaller pieces, adding the chunks to an oily pan.

As such, the expert says it’s obvious that the aspiring chef is particularly passionate about his hobby.

She continued: ‘Good knife skills, excellent cooking tips, interesting recipes all delivered in a fun, charming way. All this and 12 years old!’

In contrast, the expert said that it’s evident that Brooklyn – who has admitted he’s never had any training – picked up his techniques by watching online tutorials.

She said: ‘Brooklyn Beckham has a certain style to his cooking. He has decent knife skills, I would say he has had lessons or has studied videos and tutorials.’

However, she took issue with Brooklyn’s repeated use of the same chopping board.

‘Using the same chopping board for meat, fish and vegetables is never a good idea but if you do, like Brooklyn, you must be fastidious about cleaning in between.’

On top of this, the expert said she ‘cringed’ watching Brooklyn slice a truffle with a mandolin without wearing a protector.

She added: ‘I’ve known even experienced chefs that have chopped off the tips of their fingers in an instant.’

Lisa also highlighted how Buddy’s recipes appeal to viewers who have minimal experience or trying to make meals on a budget – unlike Brooklyn Beckham’s truffle tagliatelle, which was dubbed ‘out of touch’ by unimpressed viewers.

Having examined the chefs’ videos, Lisa said Buddy has what it takes to become a celebrity chef.

She continued: ‘Confident in front of the camera and extremely likeable, Buddy Oliver is a star in the making.

‘This is one nepo baby deserving of his success.’

Buddy’s super veggie burger recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 x 400 g tin of chickpeas
  • 1 x 340 g tin of sweetcorn
  • ½ a bunch of fresh coriander , (15g)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 heaped tablespoons plain flour , plus extra for dusting
  • rapeseed oil
  • 1 small round lettuce
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes
  • tomato ketchup
  • 4 wholemeal burger buns

Method

  1. Drain the chickpeas and sweetcorn, then tip into a food processor. Pick the coriander leaves, adding half the leaves and all the stalks to the processor.
  2. Add the spices, flour and a pinch of sea salt, finely grate in the lemon zest, then pulse until combined, but not smooth – you want to retain a bit of texture.
  3. On a flour-dusted surface, divide and shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, roughly 2cm thick. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Heat a splash of oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat, add the patties and cook for 10 minutes, or until golden and cooked through, turning halfway.
  5. Meanwhile, click off, wash and spin-dry four nice lettuce leaves, then finely slice the tomatoes horizontally.
  6. Squeeze a large dollop of ketchup onto the base of each bun (toast them if you like), then top with the burgers. Layer over a couple of slices of tomato, a lettuce leaf, a few coriander leaves and finally the burger tops. Delicious served with a fresh green salad.
