Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Snow is forecast to STOP in time for game with sun expected to break through before the game – but the temperature will be a bitter 15 degrees

  • The Bills’ game vs. the Steelers was affected by a massive snowstorm
  • But it looks like it will stop snowing ahead of this Sunday’s clash vs. Kansas City

After massive snowfall in Western New York forced the Bills-Steelers game to be delayed, it looks like the divisional round clash between Buffalo and the Chiefs will (mostly) steer clear of inclement weather.

The Bills’ win was moved from Sunday afternoon to Monday after New York governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency, and fans were still forced to wade through the snow to get to their seats.

But early forecasts for HighMark Stadium from AccuWeather predict that there will be no snow on Sunday evening – though the temperature is expected to be as low as 15 degrees with a real feel of -3.

The site also predicts there will be 22mph wind gusts at night time in the area.

While it will of course be cold during Sunday’s clash, the weather will actually represent an improvement from Kansas City’s frigid playoff opener vs. the Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers fans braved the snowy conditions on Monday afternoon

Thick snow is still covering the stands and walkways at Orchard Park after a huge winter storm

Fans were paid $20 an hour to come and clear snow overnight

The team even hired people to shovel the stadium at $20/hour ahead of the game

That contest, which the Chiefs won 26-7, was played in conditions of -30 degrees with wind chill.

And at one point, head coach Andy Reid’s famous mustache hilariously froze.

Still, Buffalo will have to deal with some extreme weather in the days leading up to this next game.

According to AccuWeather, there will be two to three feet of snow hitting the area on Friday night.

The Bills resorted to hiring people at $20 per hour to shovel snow in the stadium ahead of last weekend’s game.

Shovel crews worked on clearing the stadium seats, walkways and tunnels since Sunday, when snow fell at a rate of more than two inches (5 centimeters) per hour.

Crews worked overnight, with the Bills making a plea for more volunteers early Monday.

As of 6:00am on Monday, Orchard Park was battered by 17 inches of snow according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

However, with snow in the area set to stop this week after Friday, Buffalo should have more time to get the stadium ready for its massive game.
