An aspiring rapper has pleaded guilty to coward-punching an unsuspecting builder on a New South Wales beach.
Ryan Gripton had just left Pepe’s Bar in Wollongong when rap artist and steel worker Jake Sara approached the him from behind and delivered a shocking blow.
In an unprovoked attack, Sara lay a violent blow on Ryan, who immediately dropped to the ground and hit his head on a concrete gutter.

When police arrived at the scene they thought that Ryan (pictured in hospital) was dead

Ryan’s father told A Current Affair when the police arrived at the scene, they thought his son was dead.
The damage would later be revealed in X-Rays and photos, outlining the seriousness of injury Ryan suffered.
Following his arrest, Sara was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm and initially pleaded not guilty, before reversing the plea.
Mr Gripton’s father wonders how another person could have so much anger in them.

The traumatising incident has now given Ryan ongoing issues, who has issues with trusting others as well as medical ramifications.
‘I now suffer from constant headaches and dizzy spells from the concussion,’ he said.
‘The coward punch has affected the way I see people, I worry that it might happen again to me, or my family or my friends, and it scares me.
Sara will face a sentencing hearing in December.
