Burger King Thailand releases new cheeseburger with no meat and 20 slices of cheese

‘Disgusting!’ Burger King Thailand releases new cheeseburger with no meat and 20 slices of cheese

Burger King has sent foodies wild after unveiling it’s latest offering – a cheeseburger with no meat and 20 slices of cheese.

The American fast food chain has released the unusual bap, which it’s calling ‘the real cheeseburger’, in Thailand.

The dish, which costs 109 Thai baht (or £2.50), is comprised of a bun filled with as many as 20 slices of American cheese.

The diner announced the burger’s release on their official Burger King Thailand Facebook earlier this week, with a post which read: ‘This is no joke. This is for real.’

Many fans of the diner have been left divided over the burger on social media, but some have been rushing to get their hands on the unusual offering to try it.

Announcing the news on Sunday, the American fast food chain posted: ‘Not for fun, this is for real!

‘Real cheeseburger from Burger King! Carrying up to 20 slices of American cheese!!!’

It went on to explain the price had been reduce from 380 baht (around £5) to 109 baht (around £2.50).

The post went on to joke the others cheeseburgers would be ‘screaming’ over the latest release, before encouraging Thai customers to head to their local branch to pick up the offering.

According to CNN, a shift manager was overheard saying its Bangkok store had to stop taking delivery orders so they could save enough Real Cheeseburgers to serve to in-store diners.

However many foodies were conflicted over the offering, with one commenting: ‘Burger King Thailand new cheeseburger. Mate, that’s a cheese sandwich.’

Many foodies took to social media to express their shock over the burger - with some left divided over whether they'd like to try it

Another wrote: ‘I would eat the Thai burger king cheeseburger.

A third added: ‘Could you even eat this? It’s disgusting! They must love American cheese?’

A fourth wrote: ‘ Dear God, no. Just no.’

Another commented: ‘I heard about this! I don’t think I could handle one though haha.’

One added: ‘I can’t imagine…’

It’s yet to be seen whether Burger King will be releasing the unusual burger in diners across the rest of the world.

It’s not the only unusual release from a fast food restaurant in recent months.

Last month, teens turned a McDonald’s drink into the latest bizarre TikTok trend as they filmed themselves pretending to die or suffer other gruesome fates after downing the bright purple shake.

The limited-edition Grimace shake, reintroduced by the restaurant chain as a tribute to a long-forgotten and frankly disturbing mascot, inspired a wave of memes and videos that even forced the fast food giant itself to join in.

Grimace first appeared in the 1970s as part of a campaign designed for young children, he was originally introduced as a villain who stole people’s shakes, but quickly morphed into a cheerful character.

And McDonald’s lovers have certainly taken to the mascot again, but perhaps not in the way the fast-food brand could anticipate.

The horror-infused trend tagged #grimaceshake has over 778.6million views on TikTok and has thousands of videos of Gen Zers sipping the sugary drink and then cutting to them playing dead or injured with the purple drink streaming from their nose, mouth or head.
