After impressing during a period of training with the Brewers, the League One outfit have offered Niasse a contract. Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been impressed by the Everton flop’s ‘hunger and desire’.
‘We are obviously aware that Oumar has been out of training for a while since he left Huddersfield,’ he said via the club’s official website.
‘He’s been training with us for a short period and has shown a lot of hunger and desire to get back playing.
‘We know he’s made over 50 Premier League appearances, and he’s shown us that he can add something to the squad that we have – hopefully he’ll be a good help for us to finish the season strongly.’
Niasse was signed by former Toffees boss Roberto Martinez in February 2016, scoring 12 goals in 65 appearances. He spent time on loan at Hull and Cardiff before being released in 2020.
