Bus driver marches across street and SMACKS boy around the head – but more than 300,000 people sign petition supporting him

This is the shocking moment a bus driver gets out of his vehicle, strides straight towards a young boy and smacks him around the face.
The video shows a group of rowdy youngsters crowding a street in south-east Paris.
Suddenly, the driver crosses the street towards them and slaps the boy.
The youths begin screaming and shouting and the driver – who appears angry – eventually heads back to his bus.
According to franceinfo, the teenager had allegedly crossed the street in front of the bus, forcing the driver to make an emergency stop and endangering the lives of his passengers.

The bus driver, who is a father to a teenager, tried to lecture the schoolboy about how dangerous it was to cross under these conditions.
But the boy responded to him saying, ‘Shut your mouth and drive your bus!’
The video has been circulating on social media and the driver is facing disciplinary action after he admitted to ‘having acted under the influence of emotion’.
But more than 300,000 people have signed a petition set up by his colleagues calling for him not to be punished and claiming the schoolboy showed a ‘lack of respect’.
After lecturing him, the bus driver goes back to the bus. A petition has been launched asking his bosses not to punish him for his actions
Colleagues say the driver in the footage is known for being kind, calm and patient.
A translation of the Tweet by the bus company Group RATP said: ‘RATP condemns this action, which is contrary to the principles and values of a public service company.
It added that the driver had been asked to explain himself to bus centre management and informed that he would be subject to a disciplinary procedure.
