BUSINESS LIVE: UK economy shrank in May; Chancellor says inflation still a ‘drag anchor’; airport drop-off charges on the up; Rics says UK housing market remains subdued

The UK economy contracted in May after businesses across the country downed tools for the King’s coronation, according to official figures. Gross domestic product  fell by 0.1 per cent for the month, after increasing by 0.2 per cent in April, the Office for National Statistics said. Read the Wednesday 12 July Business Live blog below.
