Cafu believes Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold can be one of the best players in the world
The former right back won the World Cup twice with Brazil during a glittering 19-year career
‘He’s a sensational player, a rare talent,’ Cafu told FIFA.com.
‘If he keeps playing the way he has been he will be regarded as one of the best players in the world.
‘He’s technically brilliant, he has so much quality. He has a Brazilian style of play. I love watching him play. And playing in such a great team will help him grow.’
Alexander-Arnold has played a starring role in the Reds’ title charge with Jurgen Klopp’s side needing just two wins to claim their first league trophy in 30 years when the season resumes this month.
The full-back has registered 12 assists for the current season which equals his previous record
The 21-year-old has registered a record number of Premier League assists for a defender in the 2018-19 season, setting up 12 goals but he has already equalled that tally during the 2019-20 campaign.
Cafu was also known for his great attacking ability during a glittering 19-year career and he believes Alexander-Arnold has an even brighter future.
Liverpool’s first game back following the coronavirus suspension will be against Merseyside rivals Everton on June 21, with mayor Joe Anderson revealing he believes the fixture should go ahead at Goodison Park, rather than at a neutral venue.
Klopp’s men could win the title that night if Manchester City lose to Arsenal in their return on June 17.
