Caitlin Clark clip sends fans wild as she draws THREE players out of position for Kelsey Mitchell to score three-pointer as Fever beat Mystics

A clip has sent fans crazy after Caitlin Clark appeared to draw three defenders in zone coverage in a win over the Washington Mystics.

The play happened late in the game with the contest standing at 77-75.

Clark ran a decoy play into the paint before bouncing out beyond the arc to create some separation.

In the process she dragged three players – Aaliyah Edwards, Ariel Atkins, and Karlie Samuelson – out of their defensive positions.

Clark then directed her teammate to pass it to the wide open Kelsey Mitchell – who buried the triple to make the lead grow to five.

Fans were stunned at the sequence, with many praising Clark – who had a stellar 30 point performance on Friday night.

‘Put her in the Steph [Curry] role instead of being the primary facilitator/initiator and watch how things change. Shouldn’t have took this long to figure that out,’ wrote one person on Twitter.

Another said, ‘Nah this was crazy they all went after her.’

A third wrote: ‘This is what I’ve been trying to say, Clark is realizing that she’ll always be double or even triple guarded. Why not use it to the teams advantage and help open players up!’

Clark’s 30 points led all scorers as the Fever beat the Mystics 85-83 in a tight game.

While Clark dominated the scoresheet with those points as well as eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals, she also coughed up a costly eight turnovers that kept the game tight.

She iced the game late – hitting three out of four free throws in the final eleven seconds to keep the Mystics at bay and capping off a night where she went 8-15 from the field and 7-13 from beyond the arc.

Those seven triples tied a rookie record held concurrently with Crystal Robinson, formerly of the New York Liberty.
