Caitlin Clark goes wild as Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs secure NFL playoff place

Caitlin Clark wasted no time celebrating Kansas City Chiefs reaching the playoffs, sending a one-word message to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce after their 19-17 win over Las Vegas Raiders.

A shock fumble in the dying seconds from the Raiders as they approached field goal range handed the Chiefs a victory that secured their place in the postseason, much to WNBA star Clark’s delight.

‘CHIEFSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!’ Clark excitably tweeted after the win was official.

The Indiana Fever star appeared to be playing golf when the game started, judging by her Instagram story, but was apparently still following the game closely.

And while she’s the biggest star in basketball at present, she has never made any secret of how much she loves the Chiefs.

Last season, Clark joined Peyton and Eli Manning’s ‘Manningcast’ for the Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles game where she opened up on her fandom.

‘I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was a young girl,’ she said. ‘My brother was a Chiefs fan, my dad was a Chiefs fan, I had cousins in Kansas City that were Chiefs fans. I love it.’

Peyton Manning then asked Clark how she became a Chiefs fan from growing up in Iowa.

‘Honestly, it was just something, all I knew,’ she said. ‘In our basement we had a Chiefs vending machine, we had toy Chiefs helmets and I’d run around and knock helmets with my brothers.

‘I had a lot of cousins in Kansas City who loved the Chiefs. It would be like a yearly thing that we would go down there and watch a Chiefs game.

‘I’m not a bandwagon Chiefs fan, I was a Chiefs fan even when they weren’t very good!’

The 22-year-old Clark is also a huge Taylor Swift fan and went to two straight nights of Eras Tour shows when the singer was in Indianapolis earlier this year.

Clark is enjoying the WNBA offseason at present after transforming the interest in the league when she was picked first in the draft by the Fever this year.

It was confirmed in the week that she will not join the new 3×3 Unrivaled league, which begins in January.
