Calum Scott hopes to collaborate with Sam Smith 

He’s the British singer-songwriter who has already collaborated with Leona Lewis.

And in The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential on Wednesday, Calum Scott revealed that he has his sights set on recording with Sam Smith.

‘A male duet is what I’m dreaming of,’ the 29-year-old said.

‘I would love to do it with Sam Smith. I think the thing we are missing at the moment is a male duet,’ Calum told the publication. 

Calum won a legion of adoring fans after making it to the Britain’s Got Talent final in 2015.  

The crooner was catapulted into the music world with his emotional cover of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own in his first audition on the reality series.

The performance, which earned a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and the other judges, was viewed on YouTube more than 150 million times.  

Calum said of Sam: ‘I would love to do it with Sam Smith. I think the thing we are missing at the moment is a male duet’ 

It was such a hit he later released his version of the melancholy dance track, and despite little publicity, it climbed to number two in the UK charts. 

Calum also admitted that the exposure from the show was daunting, making it ‘really tough’ for him to come out publicly as gay.

He told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential in March that he feels ‘stronger’ than ever about his sexuality now.   

The former recruitment worker said he came out to help make others feel like they could speak out.  

Calum said: ‘It is important for me to tell my story so that others feel comfortable telling theirs.’
