Camera shy! President Trump makes a rare appearance wearing glasses but hides face from reporters

President Donald Trump made a rare appearance wearing his reading glasses as he headed to the golf course Friday morning.

The president left his Mar-a-Lago estate for a game of golf around 9am but hid his face from reporters to avoid showing off his spectacles.

He was dressed in a red polo, white cap, and glasses as he headed out.

After the game the president was in great spirits and gave reporters quite a show waving from his car window and offering a big grin.

The president was not wearing his glasses on his way back to his estate.

Glasses-free, Trump seemed no longer camera shy and gave reporters enthusiastic faces and a thumbs up – a sign his round of golf was a success.

He also waved to crowds that gathered along the road with signs that said ‘Trump 2020’ and ‘In Trump We Trust’.

The fans waved American flags and ‘Trump Make America Great Again’ banners.

The president doesn’t often wear his glasses, at least not in public.

He was last spotted wearing glasses in October 2017 also after a game of golf in Sterling, Virginia.

At the time a source told Dailymail.com that the 70-year-old takes his glasses off for cameras, likely for vanity’s sake.

The source also said that the president only wears his spectacles while he’s working in the office, a sign that the president may have been doing some work in the car en route to the golf course.

Two days ago the president was at the golf course on his Florida estate accompanied by the Japanese prime minister.

Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe were spotted first bumping on the course during the surprise outing.

He took to Twitter to gush about the game.

‘Prime Minister @AbeShinzo of Japan and myself this morning building an even deeper and better relationship while playing a quick round of golf at Trump International Golf Club,’ he tweeted on Wednesday.

Later in the day Trump attended a luncheon with US and Japanese Delegates where he discussed US and Japan cooperation in North Korea as well as defense and trade.
