Melbourne Storm superstar Cameron Munster has revealed the club were prepared to ‘rip up his contract’ following the ‘white powder’ scandal that saw him go to rehab for gambling and binge-drinking issues.

Munster, 27, was embroiled in the now infamous scandal with teammates Brandon Smith and Chris Lewis soon after the Storm lost their NRL preliminary final to Penrith last year.

‘I pretty much was (done),’ the Queensland and Australian representative said.

‘The board were ready to rip my contract up…I have a beautiful partner at home and a baby. My income and support was up in the air and that really hit home.’
