• Melbourne dealing with a growing injury list
  • Sua Faalogo is the latest with concussion
  • Next face Canberra Raiders in Magic Round

By ANDREW PRENTICE FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

Melbourne Storm star Cameron Munster has cheekily suggested his club play coach Craig Bellamy ‘on the wing’ during Magic Round as they deal with a growing injury toll.

The likes of Harry Grant [hamstring], Will Warbrick [concussion], Jack Howarth [shoulder], Dean Ieramia [achilles] and Moses Leo [shoulder] are all currently sidelined.

Young gun Sua Faalogo then failed a HIA test following a late hit from South Sydney fullback Latrell Mitchell in the 24-16 win at AAMI Park on Anzac Day.

Mitchell will be banned for one game if he takes the early guilty plea.

It prompted Munster to joke Bellamy will be on the team sheet for the Magic Round clash with the Raiders.

‘He’s [Bellamy] putting the boots on,’ Munster told reporters on Friday. ‘Have him on the wing.’

It is a tough break for Faalogo, who has been on the outer in the early stages of this season after making 15 appearances last campaign.

Bellamy conceded it will be on all hands on deck when they tackle Canberra at Suncorp Stadium.

‘I’m not quite sure [why] we’ve had these run of injuries with our outside backs….and I don’t think there will be many of them coming back anytime soon,’ he said.

‘We are struggling a little bit there and this certainly isn’t going to help with Sua not playing next week.

‘It is what it is, so we’ve got to make sure we move on and it gives someone else a chance.

‘Our mentality has always been, sometimes it makes it hard with key players, but when someone misses out, someone gets a chance and that’s the way it is.

‘Just take it week by week and plan the week out, then take it day by day, just see what we’ve got and what we haven’t got and try to make the most of it.

‘There’s no use panicking about it.

‘We’ll get together with our leaders and the coaches and throw up a few ideas of what we can do and what we can’t do.’

Enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona is expected to be available for the clash with the Raiders.
