Just hours after it was reported that a Lufthansa flight from Austin, Texas to Frankfurt, Germany was diverted to Washington D.C. after severe turbulence injured seven on board, Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves McConaughey revealed she too was on the plane.

The 40-year-old Brazilian model was on board Lufthansa Flight 469 that was flying 37,000 feet over Tennessee on Wednesday evening when the crew reported severe turbulence.

Alves shared a brief video on her Instagram on Thursday afternoon, showing food and other items strewn about the aisle in the aftermath of the turbulence.

She also shared details of the flight – which she described as ‘chaos’ after the turbulence hit – while thanking those who helped her.

‘On Flight last night, plane dropped almost 4000 feet, 7 people went to the hospital, Everything was flying everywhere,’ Alves McConaughey began.

‘To respect the privacy of those around me that’s all I am showing but the plane was a CHAOS And the turbulence keep on coming,’ she added.

‘The @lufthansa flight you are seeing on the news today!!!! Yes…that one. Thank God everyone was safe and ok,’ the model added.

The flight was diverted to Dulles Airport outside of Washington D.C., with Alves McConaughey thanking the staff of the Marriot Bonvoy near the airport. 

‘I must say everyone @marriotbonvoy by the airport of Washington where we had to divert to and spend the night was so kind!’ she said.

‘And we made it to the bar with 1 minute before closing…slept well, getting on new flight today, To the journey I continue… Karin Lacy was a savior with me until 1am working on new flights!!!’ she concluded.

Alves McConaughey also took to her Instagram story, sharing a headline from an NBC News story about the flight she was on.

‘Yeap… this flight we were on,’ Alves said in the caption of her Instagram story post on Thursday.

She also shared a new video on Thursday from her new flight to Frankfurt, giving her 1 million fans and followers a quick update.

‘Just my luck, after last night. Just got on the rescheduled flight and the pilot’s saying we have 45 minutes of turbulence, getting out of Washington,’ she revealed.

‘Just my luck. Wish me luck,’ Alves McConaughey concluded.

Her husband Matthew McConaughey, who she married in 2012, made headlines last week when she shared a snap of him cutting their 10-year-old son Livingston’s hair.

Their oldest son, 14-year-old Levi, was also there looking on along with the family dog in the snap, which got nearly 70K likes.

The scary flight incident came just months after she suffered a neck injury after falling down a flight of stairs.

‘Sh** Happens. I am ok but… Don’t fall people…don’t fall…’ Alves McConaughey began in her caption from early November.

‘Ladies hold your long dresses up or lose pants up when going by down the stairs!!’ she continued. 

‘Wind blew mine as I was midair, pant fabric wrapped around my shoe and down the floor I went…A silly fall, turned into not so silly neck situation, recovery time ahead…’ she concluded.
