Camilla’s facialist reveals how Duchess keeps her youthful glow

She looks remarkably youthful despite reaching the age of 71 this year.

And now Camilla’s skincare guru has revealed the secrets behind the royal’s perennially youthful glow.

Facialist to the stars Deborah Mitchell, who has been working with the Duchess of Cornwall for 12 years, says her complexion is all down to a clever mix of bee venom, hyaluronic acid – and good genes.

Camilla’s penchant for bee venom is well documented – thanks to a plug in her unofficial biography – however this is the first time Deborah has offered a detailed account of her most high-profile client’s skin regime.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Deborah said: ‘Her Royal Highness has a very wonderful personality and this shines through and provides a natural glow.

‘In terms of her products, she is known to use an organic moisturiser which includes bee venom, which works to control the facial muscles for tightening, firming and lifting as well as hydrating the skin.

‘Bee venom is also good for providing an instant anti-ageing ageing effect, leaving her skin naturally younger looking. I’m proud to look after my clients and it is wonderful to see them physically becoming younger.

‘The Duchess of Cornwall only uses quality organic products on her skin. No one wants to waste time and energy on applying things that you don’t see instant results with.’

According to Deborah, Camilla is also a fan of the Silk Skin Bee Bee Cream from her own Heaven skincare range.

She explained: ‘The formula adapts to the skin tone and gives and a very slight glowy hue and bronzed tint to the skin. It is great for mature skin because it includes hyaluronic acid.’

Speaking about her friendship with the Duchess, Deborah added: ‘I’ve been very lucky to treat so many celebrities in my career and I have had the privilege of knowing Her Royal Highness for more than 12 years now.

‘The Palace have been very generous with me speaking to the press about my bee sting treatments and her Royal Highness, during this time.

‘I was honoured to be named in her book, which she released a few years ago, it mentions her love for the Bee Sting Treatments.’

Deborah also revealed the biggest mistake women are making when it comes to their skincare regimes.

‘Sleeping in makeup is one of the worst things you can do, as it ages the skin significantly,’ she said.’

Deborah began her career as a 17-year-old mobile beauty therapist before going on to found one the globe’s most high-end skincare brands, Heaven Skincare, which counts the Duchess of Cornwall and Gwyneth Paltrow as fans.

Deborah’s road to success has rather a starry beginning: she was scouted by Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor’s wife, Tracey, to be her beauty therapist. From there, she went on to treat the entire band, their wives and their close circle of A-list pals.

‘The key to fresh looking skin in your 60’s is to start a proper cleansing routine early on,’ Deborah tells MailOnline. ‘This helps with the removal of years of sun damage and relaxes tight muscles which cause wrinkles.

‘Adding a serum into the regime is also beneficial. It acts much like a moisturiser but it tends to penetrate into the skin much deeper and faster.

‘This works well for a more mature skin, as skin tends to be dryer and in more need of extra hydration.

‘By applying serums, it is an easy way of gently giving your skin the glow, older skin can sometimes lack.

‘My Prism age defiance really has been an anti-aging breakthrough for my clients, it releases peptides to produce collagen and elastin, which are these are the factors for younger looking skin.

‘Lots of my London based clients need extra oxygen to make their skin look younger, by using a cream that incorporates this in the formula, this will help get an extra dose.

‘The best time of day to apply this is pre-bed time, as the oxygen will work its magic overnight and once woken, skin looks fresher, brighter and younger!’
