Campsie toddler critically injured after being run over

  • A toddler has died after being hit by her mother’s car in Campsie on Thursday
  • The two-year-old was struck by a reversing Kia at 10.45am on Beamish Street
  • The toddler was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital in critical condition
  • The female driver was also taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests 

A toddler has died after being run over by her mother’s car outside a business in Sydney’s southwest.

NSW paramedics were called to the scene at Campsie about 10.45am on Thursday after the two-year-old was struck by a reversing Kia at the rear of a small business on Beamish Street.   

The toddler was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

The child’s mother, who is of Middle Eastern descent, was also taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests, police said.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
