The two pound-for-pound stars collide in Las Vegas on Saturday in one of the decade’s most eagerly-awaited contests, with Golovkin’s IBF, WBA and WBC titles on the line.
The fighters will take to the ring at approximately 3.30am – slightly earlier than planned given Nicola Adams v Alexandra Vlajk was cancelled.
Floyd Mayweather, who beat Conor McGregor last month, believes Triple G will meet his match when he steps into the ring with Alvarez.
‘Do I think Triple G can beat Canelo? Absolutely not,’ said Mayweather.
‘I think there’s a few guys that can beat Triple G, and Canelo is on the top of the list. I believe that he’ll beat him.
‘He’s got good punching power, but he’s flat-footed.’
