This is the shocking moment a car was flung from a mountain as hundreds of tons of earth and rock were set loose by a dramatic landslide in India.

The incident happened in Shimla, in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, leaving several vehicles and part of a temple buried under debris.

A portion of a cliff started sliding after the region was hit with heavy rainfall late last week, according to reports.

Just minutes before the landslide hit boulders began falling on the road giving pedestrians and motorists enough time to flee.

Miraculously there have been no reported casualties following the mountain drama.

It comes just weeks after another landslide killed at least 46 people when two buses were swept away sparking a complex rescue operation lasting hours.
