A woman is fighting for her life and nine others have been injured after a car ploughed into a Thai restaurant in Sydney. 

The Holden Commodore smashed into the Ta One Thai restaurant shopfront at the corner of Malton Road and Roma Street, North Epping, shortly before 10.15am on Friday.

A woman in her 30s was pinned by the car and has suffered critical injuries. She has been rushed to hospital.

Multiple ambulance crews treated nine other people at the scene; with four taken to hospital in a stable condition. 

The driver, an 89-year-old man, was taken to Ryde Hospital for mandatory testing. 

Wendy McGuire was working at hairdressing salon next door to the restaurant when she saw the car crash through the retaining wall.  

‘I saw it coming…it wasn’t going that fast…then I heard screaming,’ she told 7news.

‘There was a lot of glass.’
