Lee Webb, 28, from Cardiff killed himself after he found out his girlfriend was expecting another man’s baby

A distraught boyfriend was found dead in the woods just days after discovering his girlfriend was expecting a baby with another man.

Lee Webb, 28 is believed to have killed himself after learning his partner had been having an affair behind his back.

Mr Webb, a barman from Cardiff, was having trouble with his girlfriend who suffered from anxiety, his sister Sarah Webb claimed during the inquest.

He was devastated when he found out that his girlfriend was pregnant as there was confusion surrounding who the babies father was.

Ms Webb said: ‘He found out she had cheated on him and was pregnant.

‘He was devastated by this news. There was confusion over who the father was.

‘The Friday before he went missing he found out he was not the father.’

After hearing the news in October last year Mr Webb went missing and a search to find him was conducted by his family and friends, the inquest heard.

His body was discovered after a person with a metal detector came across his phone in woods in the Leckwith part of the city and called his family.

Cardiff Coroner Phillip Spinney concluded: ‘He had been low in mood in the period leading up to his death due to his relationship difficulties with his former partner’

‘There was no note or any other indication he was going to take his own life.

‘It is plain from the evidence we have heard that the breakdown of his relationship had lowered his mood.’

Mr Spinney said: ‘The deceased died as a consequence of his own actions.’
