A white van following closely behind then pulls over next to the car pileup.

The driver of the Audi steps out of their vehicle before going into the van.

A person appears to take their old place in the driver’s seat of the Audi.

The van takes off, leaving the Audi and new driver behind at the scene of the crash.

A passing taxi later pulls up before concerned passengers hop out to check in on the driver.

Paramedics arrived shortly afterwards and found a 46-year-old man uninjured and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Kye Michelutti, who owns the Commodore that was damaged in the crash, said he had just bought his vehicle.

‘I just bought it, I just done a blue slip and a green slip for it,’ he told 9News.

‘The RTA have been having trouble registering it because of a problem with their system, if they let me rego it the other day it wouldn’t even be sitting there.’
