Carolina Hurricanes move on to the NHL Eastern Conference Finals after defeating the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime to win the series 4-1

A tip-in goal for Jesper Fast off a shot from Jesperi Kotkaniemi was the game-winner for the Carolina Hurricanes as they move on to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in five seasons.

In the closest game of the series – the only one that went to overtime – Fast’s goal won the game for Carolina by a score of 3-2 over the New Jersey Devils. They won the series by four games to one.

Now, they await the winner of the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

Fast’s goal was his third of the series and his fourth of the playoffs for a Carolina team playing without star winger Andrei Svechnikov.

Carolina reaches the Conference Finals for the first time since 2019, when they were swept by the Boston Bruins.
