Carrie Johnson shares photo of daughter Romy at G7 summit

Proud mother Carrie Johnson shared a behind-the-scenes snap of her six-month-old daughter Romy at the G7 as she shared her highlights from the three-day summit.

The intimate photograph, taken yesterday, shows Carrie, 34, cradling her daughter as she looks out at the stunning Bavarian Alps.

It was one of 10 photos shared on Instagram by Mrs Johnson as she reflected on her time on the G7 spousal program, a series of events put on for world leaders’ partners.

One photograph shows the Prime Minister’s wife sharing a joke with US President Joe Biden. Another shows her enjoying a laid-back cocktail hour with French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

The busy schedule of engagements saw the group, which included the wife of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, go Nordic walking, meet young German athletes, and pop into a local restaurant for a refreshing drink.

Although Mrs Johnson did not make any public appearances with Romy, the new photograph reveals the baby was never far away as her parents carried out their respective engagements.

The Prime Minister brought his son Wilfred, now two, to last year’s G7 summit. Photos showed him playing on the beach with US First Lady Jill Biden.

It has been a busy week for Boris’s baby girl. Just days ago she joined her parents in Rwanda as Mr Johnson made a three-day visit to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

It remains to be seen whether she will join her father when he attends the Nato summit in Spain later today.

The Johnsons have yet to share a clear photograph of their daughter’s face and have kept their son Wilfred, two, similarly shielded from the public eye.

The G7 summit will wrap up today with leaders pledging to fight back against Vladimir Putin’s war on food with $5 billion to help protect supplies, according to a senior U.S. official.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has dominated proceedings in the Bavarian Alps. Yesterday, leaders united in their condemnation of Russia’s missile strike on a packed shopping centre in Ukraine.

Boris Johnson condemned Vladimir Putin’s ‘cruelty and barbarism’, speaking on the day Zelensky addressed the G7 summit to urge G7 leaders to supply missile defence systems, and said it would strengthen the resolve of allies to resist Putin.

Mr Johnson said: ‘This appalling attack has shown once again the depths of cruelty and barbarism to which the Russian leader will sink. Once again our thoughts are with the families of innocent victims in Ukraine.

‘Putin must realise that his behaviour will do nothing but strengthen the resolve of the Ukraine and every other G7 country to stand by the Ukraine for as long as it takes.’

Meanwhile his wife was putting on a cordial display with the other G7 partners, driving home the message of international cooperation.

Romy’s busy week! How Boris’s baby girl joined her parents in Rwanda before the family jetted to Germany

Carrie Johnson has also given a glimpse into her time spent with her seven-month-old daughter Romy when journeying to Rwanda with her husband, Boris Johnson.

The mother-of-two, 34, took to Instagram this week to share several images from her visit to Umusambi Village, a restored wetland area which provides sanctuary for over 50 endangered Grey Crowned Cranes.

Looking the epitome of summer styling, Carrie opted for a white and blue floral dress, while her daughter was dressed in a yellow and red outfit, decorated with flowers to match her mother’s attire.

In the photos, Carrie holds baby Romy with her face away from the camera as the pair look out at the picturesque scenery.

Mrs Johnson, who is well known as an environmental campaigner, was in Rwanda last week alongside the Prime Minister for a three-day visit to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Sharing four photos from her trip today, Carrie wrote: ‘Very lucky to visit Umusambi Village. A beautifully restored wetland area, providing a sanctuary for over 50 endangered Grey Crowned Cranes saved from the illegal pet trade.’

Yesterday, the partners continued their itinerary with a visit to meet a group of junior biathletes in training for the Olympics.

Brigitte Macron, the 69-year-old wife of President Emmanuel Macron, 44, was typically glamorous in a powder blue suit and put a stylish twist on the ensemble by adding a pair of white trainers. As the weather warmed up, Mrs Macron removed her jacket to reveal an elegant crossover blouse.

Mrs Johnson opted for a more low-key look, stepping out in a classic white blouse and black straight-leg trousers combo.

The mother-of-two finished the ensemble with simple nude pumps and wore her blonde locks swept over one shoulder in voluminous curls.

She and Mrs Macron greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek, a warm greeting that reflected their husbands’ show of unity.

Boris Johnson is preparing to join other Nato leaders in Madrid today for a summit at which they are expected to agree the biggest overhaul of the Western military alliance since the end of the Cold War.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has reportedly asked Mr Johnson to hike UK defence spending to 2.5% of GDP – an additional 20% a year – by 2028 in the face of Russian aggression.

Mrs Johnson is expected to make the journey with her husband. First Lady Jill Biden is already in Spain after skipping the G7 summit to carry out engagements in the country ahead of President Biden’s arrival.

It remains to be seen if Romy will join her parents at the Nato summit.

Just like Wilfred! How Boris and Carrie introduced their son, two, to the Bidens at last year’s G7 summit

Boris and Carrie’s son Wilfred, now two, played an important role in last year’s G7 summit – helping to break the ice as his parents welcomed the Bidens to Cornwall.

Mr and Mrs Johnson invited the President and the First Lady to meet their boy on the beach and later released a number of carefully selected photographs from the encounter.

Grandmother Mrs Biden was seen laughing and joking with her British counterpart as the two women removed their footwear and dipped their toes in the ocean.

They strolled along the sand with the Johnsons’ blonde-haired toddler – whose face was very carefully kept out of view in official images released by No. 10 Downing Street.
