Despite reports of an imminent move away, Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas was a picture of happiness as he arrived at the club’s gala evening on Wednesday.

Pictured arm-in-arm with his wife Sara Carbonero on the red carpet, the legendary goalkeeper was all smiles as he posed for the cameras at Dragao Caixa.

The indoor arena in Porto houses the club’s basketball, handball and roller hockey teams, but it was transformed into a lavish room for the awards ceremony this week.

Among the winners were former goalkeeper Americo Lopes, the now 84-year-old former goalkeeper collecting the ‘Career Award’, and the much younger Diogo Dalot, who collected Young Athlete of the Year.

Attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi won the prestigious Footballer of the Year, dedicating the award to his mother when he collected it on the stage.

Casillas himself did not pick up an award, but was among the players celebrating Porto’s impressive start to the season.

Sergio Conceicao’s side are currently top of the Primeira Liga with eight wins from their opening nine games, two points clear of Sporting Lisbon.

Whether Casillas will be between the sticks come the end of the season is unknown, though, amid reports of a January switch away from Portugal.

According to El Pais in Spain, both Liverpool and Newcastle are keen on the 36-year-old keeper, with Porto looking to lighten their wage bill at the start of 2018.

Jurgen Klopp has still not tied down a first-choice goalkeeper, with neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius impressing enough to make the spot their own.
