A teenager has been stabbed to death as another fights for life in hospital after a violent brawl erupted at a KFC outlet.

Police rushed to the restaurant in Casino in NSW’s northern rivers region at 5.10pm on Sunday and found two teenagers with stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, a 17-year-old boy sadly died at the scene.

An 18-year-old boy was rushed to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment of his serious injuries and is in a stable condition.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested two hours later on Dairy Street in Casino and taken to the police station.

He was charged with murder, reckless wounding, and affray, and will face the Children’s Court on Monday. 

A crime scene has been established at the Casino KFC where detectives and members of the homicide squad will investigate the death.
