Cassidy McGill hits back at critics who’ve labelled the show too raunchy

Sophie Monk previously described Love Island Australia as ‘Big Brother meets a lot of sex.’ 

But Cassidy McGill views the reality show in a very different light, having hit back at critics for labelling the show as being too raunchy. 

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday the 23-year-old blonde revealed the sexy singleton’s are genuinely on the show to find ‘love.’

‘Love Island isn’t a sex show! We’re there to find love! At this point there has only been one couple who have had sex on the show and I think that’s a really sweet thing,’ Cassidy added.

‘It’s love Island it’s not sex Island!’ she reinforced.

Cassidy also revealed the Islanders were made to have sexual health checks before they entered the Spanish villa.

‘We weren’t handed out condoms or anything like that,’ Cassidy added.

In the early stages of the show, Cassidy enjoyed a brief romance with fellow Islander, Grant Crapp.  

The Melbourne bartender touched on her sex life with the hunky Electrician, 22.

‘Nothing happened with Grant and I apart from a few kisses…it didn’t escalate very much!’ she revealed.

Cassidy’s remarks come after a recent evictee Justin Lacko even said Eden Dally and Erin Barnett’s loud romps were keeping the others awake at night.

The male model, 27, even admitted he had to wear ear plugs to block out the frisky couple’s moans, groans and slapping.

He told The Daily Telegraph earlier this month: ‘I am quite old school and I kind of feel like there is a time and a place for that and it definitely is not in the company of others.’  

Ahead of the show’s release, host Sophie Monk opened up about how raunchy the new multi-channel series will be.

Speaking to NW magazine, the 38-year-old revealed:’It’s Big Brother meets a lot of sex.’

She also admitted to the publication: ‘I love watching the sex scenes.’
