  • Photos shared as she lifts lid on role she played in international drug operation

‘Cocaine’ Cassie Sainsbury has shared photographs of her beachside wedding with her Colombian partner as she prepares to bare all about her past as a drug mule.

The convicted drug smuggler pulled back the curtains on the intimate ceremony in an exclusive tell-all with 7NEWS Spotlight, airing at 7pm on Sunday.

Sainsbury will also detail her role in an international drug operation before she was caught with 5.8kg of cocaine at Bogota Airport, Colombia, in April 2017.

Sainsbury told the current affairs program she had been part of the drug ring while she was still living in Australia – believing she was delivering parcels.

‘(The dealer) told me that the job was basically taking envelopes of documents into the city, (Sydney) to his clients,’ Sainsbury said.

‘In a week it could have been two or three times, or it could have been to the next extreme and being up to 10, 15 times.’

The former personal trainer met her computer technician partner Tatiana soon after she was released from the El Buen Pastor jail in 2020 before they married in March this year.

The pair exchanged vows on a beach in Colombia with images emerging of the elegant ceremony for the first time ever.

Ms Sainsbury dazzled in an elegant wedding dress while her partner opted for a smart-looking and polished suit with a pink bow tie.

Heartwarming photographs show the love-struck pair toasting and looking into each other’s eyes with joy during the ceremony.

Sainsbury said her whirlwind romance with Tatiana, which began mid-last year, was completely unexpected.

‘We had shared a group of friends and one night we went out for a birthday and we literally hit it off,’ she said.

The pair quickly took their relationship to the next level with Tatiana getting down on one knee during a romantic beachfront dinner at Cartagena, Colombia in November.

At the time Sainsbury showed off her glitzy engagement ring on social media and posted about being flustered over trying to choose a wedding dress.

‘She put a ring on it!’ Sainsbury said of the engagement.

‘She’d been planning for a while trying to find a ring that she thought was perfect for me and in the end she found it.’

Sainsbury took to Instagram in March 2022 posting a selfie with the added hashtag #justmarried.

In July last year, Sainsbury told Daily Mail Australia her new lover was unaware of her past and why she had made the headlines in Australia, but that had since changed.

‘I shared everything with her about everything,’ she said.

‘Basically [Tatiana] said she wasn’t going to judge me on my past, she was really mature about the whole situation.
