In addition to the movie poster dropping on Tuesday, a trailer for Borderlands was released by Lionsgate.
Then 10-second teaser began with the two-time Oscar winner furiously shooting a gun into the distance as she laid on her back.
Before the brief preview concluded, her character can be heard muttering: ‘God, I hate this planet.’
Borderlands is based on a role-playing shooter game that takes place in a space Western science fantasy setting, created and produced by Gearbox Software.
Blanchett plays Lilith, a superhuman ‘Siren’ who is one of the games several playable characters and one of only six women in the galaxy who have her psychic abilities.
The game follows four ‘vault hunters’ on the planet of Pandora, where they try and find a secret location full with advanced alien technology while fending off marauders and thieves.
This marks her latest film, following the release of her 2023 movie, The New Boy, in July.
In 2022, she had three films released, including The School for Good and Evil, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Tár.

For Tár, she earned an Oscar nomination for her scene-stealing performance.
The star was nominated in the Best Actress category for her portrayal of Lydia Tár, a manipulative orchestra conductor who rises to become the first-ever female conductor of a German orchestra.
Blanchett is now among a small circle of elite actors who have been nominated for an Academy Award eight times, joining the likes of Marlon Brando, Judi Dench, Geraldine Page, Peter O’Toole and Glenn Close.
She has already won two Oscars, one for The Aviator (2005) and the other for Blue Jasmine (2014).
