Catherine Tyldesley hints she’ll return to Coronation Street after being approached by bosses ‘a couple of times’ to reprise her role

Catherine Tyldesley has revealed she’d open to returning to Coronation Street after being approached by bosses ‘a couple of times’ to reprise her role.

The actress played Eva Price on the soap from 2011 to 2018, with her character bidding farewell to Weatherfield for a new life with her daughter Susie in France.

Speaking to Prima Magazine, Eva shared that six years after her exit it’s started to feel like ‘forever ago,’ and she’d be open to reprising her role if an ‘amazing storyline’ was penned for her.

She said: ‘Coronation Street feels like forever ago, but I always look back with such great fondness.

‘They’ve asked me to go back a couple of times over the years, and it just so happened that I was busy with other projects.

‘But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I’d go back. So it’s always a case of never say never.’

During her final months on Corrie, viewers saw Eva devastated when her ex-flame Aidan Connor tragically died by suicide, weeks after giving birth to their daughter.

Planning to join her mother Stella in France, Eva originally planned a start a new life with her partner Adam, but at the last moment, he opted to stay in Weatherfield.

Since leaving Corrie, Catherine has gone onto star in Strictly Come Dancing, and land roles in Channel 5 series The Good Ship Murder and ITV thriller Viewpoint.

During the interview, Catherine also shared that she felt ‘unfit, weak and vulnerable’ after welcoming her second child as she opened up about her body.

The actress shares two children Alfie, 10, and Iris, two, with husband Tom Pitfield, who she tied the knot with in 2016 in a lavish Cheshire ceremony.

Catherine has now revealed that she went through a ‘very difficult’ time with her body as she attempted to ‘spring back’ after giving birth to the couple’s little girl.

She admitted she ‘lost her mind mental health-wise’ and suffered from chronic sickness and pregnancy insomnia.

Discussing her body with Prima, Catherine said: ‘My relationship with my body is probably like most women: up and down. I found it very difficult after my second child.

‘I hate the words ‘spring back’ because you’ve achieved something so amazing. But I’ll be honest: I didn’t feel like myself. I felt unfit, I felt weak, I felt vulnerable. I had hyperemesis. I had chronic sickness and pregnancy insomnia.

‘So it got to the point where the doctor was like, “We’re going to have to do something because your quality of life is really bad at the moment.”

‘I was just losing my mind, mental health-wise, trying to manage on two or three hours of sleep each night.’

It comes after Catherine posed with her two adorable children in front of their Christmas tree in a sweet Instagram snap.

The star looked incredible in a gold glittering jumper while her son rocked a football shirt and her little girl donned a Frozen costume.

She penned: ‘In the precious time we had together this Christmas. We Barely took any photographs. We are normally camera snappy all day!

‘Initially I proclaimed to Tom- “there’s hardly any photos! I’m gutted.” But then I realised it’s because we were ‘in’ EVERY single moment – Present.

‘Whilst photos are indeed precious- Presence…That is worth more than a million photos. Capturing images with my heart.

‘We managed a physical picture in front of the tree before the kids ran off to play with more toys (as it should be) and a handful of other bits!’
