Catherine Tyldesley wore a plunging blue swimsuit as she hit the beach during a filming break as she prepares to make her return to Coronation Street.

The actress, 41, enjoyed a fun day with her family on Saturday that saw her and husband Tom Pitfield pose for a sweet, romantic snap by the beach.

They also took a selfie with their daughter – Iris Ella, three – in shallow waters. 

Catherine has been filming for new ITV drama Protection ahead of returning to Coronation Street. 

She captioned the sweet snaps: ‘My family came over to visit me for a week. 

‘I’ve been flat out whilst they’ve been here… (always the way!) trying to see them whenever I could. BUT I got to spend a whole day with them yesterday.’

The trio were also joined by their friend’s daughter for a sweet, smiling snap as Catherine took a break from filming ahead of her return to Coronation Street this summer

The actress went to praise the day for leaving her with new memories, a full heart and a renewed sense of gratitude. 

Catherine did not specify where the family outing took place, although the UK has been enjoying warmer weather in April.  

Tagging her husband and friends, who are not in the spotlight, she said of the day out: ‘It was everything! 

‘Thank you for travelling hundreds of miles and being the best daddy in the world so I could spend sometime with my babies. 

‘It meant the world to me. See y’all in a few weeks!’

Catherine’s return to the cobbles is long-awaited as she was last in Weatherfield in 2018.

Her character, Eva Price, left that year to live in France with her mum, Stella, following the tragic death of Aidan Connor. 

While Catherine has acted in several roles since then, she is said to have missed Coronation Street, but the stars had not ‘aligned’ until recently for her return.

A source told The Sun: ‘When [Catherine] was approached with the idea for Eva’s return, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

‘She’ll start filming again in summer and be back on screen for autumn. 

‘She’s so excited and can’t wait to get back on the cobbles.

‘It’s definitely not going to be a storyline to miss.’

Catherine began her acting career back in 2005 when she graduated from the Birmingham School of Acting.

She has had many notable roles over the years outside of Coronation Street, including Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lillies (2007) and Karen Norris in the BBC sitcom Scarborough (2019).
