Catherine Zeta Jones has declared her love for another man – and says her husband Michael Douglas, 78, is ‘fine with it’.

The actress, 53, took to Instagram on Sunday night as she watched the most dramatic World Cup final unfold. 

Cheering Argentina on from her home as they securing a win during penalties after a nail-biting game, Catherine admitted she has a bit of a soft spot for Lionel Messi, 35.

Sharing a video of her TV as the team broke down in tears after their victory, Catherine could be heard singing Ole, Ole, Ole in celebration in the background.     

The Chicago star wrote: ‘The best match I have ever seen, ever!!! Look, I support Paris Saint Germain, why, one wonders, I love the French, speak it too, my heart goes out to you. 

‘But you have to understand, I Love MESSI and the best bit?….my husband is just fine with it. no need to….so Don’t cry for me or anybody else, Argentina!!!! OLE!!!’.

She added: ‘What a guy! Doesn’t care about my Messi posters all over the house, like….super cool’. 

Catherine and Michael have been married for 22 years and have two children. 

The Paris Saint-Germain star led the South American side to global glory on Sunday night, scoring twice to help his side beat France 4-2 on penalties at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. 

The Albiceleste captain immediately sank to his knees and embraced his compatriots when Gonzalo Montiel scored Argentina’s final penalty to seal the win, but quickly collected himself and cantered over to the stands where he was mobbed by wife Antonella Roccuzzo and his three sons, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.

‘I knew God would bring this gift to me, I had the feeling that this World Cup was the one,’ he said.

‘It took so long, but here it is. We suffered a lot, but we managed to do it. Can’t wait to be in Argentina to witness the insanity of this.’

But despite capping his international footballing career with the most coveted prize of all, the elated Argentine captain told his native sports broadcaster TyC Sports: ‘I’m not retiring from the national team. I want to continue playing as champion.’

Messi sent the Lusail stadium into raptures as he held the World Cup aloft in Qatar, having guiding Argentina to glory through a nerve-wracking penalty shootout against France in one of the greatest ever finals.
