One stray cat proved that she really does have nine lives.
A recently rescued feline survived spending a week with her head trapped inside a mayonnaise jar in Pennsylvania.
The cat had been running around a neighborhood in Wilkes-Barre with the jar stuck on her head.

Dr. Inayat Kathio used a pair of scissors to remove the mayonnaise jar while the cat was tranquilized
‘I saw this cat coming to eat and it had a mayo jar and I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ and it ran away. The next day, I was literally able to get the mayo jar and try to get its head popped out and it ran away again,’ Linda Ruggere said to WNEP.
The non-profit group Whisker’s World brought the cat, now named Miracle, to the Pittston Animal Hospital.
Dr. Inayat Kathio had to tranquilize Miracle to remove the jar from her head.

‘She was trying to eat the mayonnaise at the bottom. Poor thing. She must have been hungry,’ Kathio said to the Standard-Speaker.
Kathio also hydrated Miracle. She had managed to survive the week with the jar by drinking rainwater that had accumulated inside it. She was also spayed.

Kathio frequently treats animals in dire cases for free.
‘When I was a kid in Pakistan, the American Red Cross gave us vaccinations. They came to school and gave us milk. They didn’t have to do it. I learned humanity from America. America inspired me. That’s why I do it,’ Kathio said.
Miracle was returned to the neighborhood where she was found. A group of neighbors have agreed to keep feeding her.
