Fans of Celebrity Big Brother were left shocked when Oti Mabuse revealed the identity of the famous persona.
The reality show started in 2000 and its name is a reference to the all-seeing presence in the George Orwell novel 1984 but one of the main voices associated with the Diary Room has never had a face attached to it – until now.
The civilian version of the show was revived by ITV1 towards the end of 2023 and last week Ibiza Weekender star David Potts was announced the winner of the new edition of Celebrity Big Brother.
Dancing on Ice judge Oti, 33, had appeared as a regular panellist on Big Brother Late and Live throughout the star-studded series and took to social media after the final to reveal a picture of the man behind the famous booming voice.
She wrote: ‘Meeting actual ‘Big Brother’ over the top of the pic.

The revelation came as part of a photo carousel Oti shared following the conclusion of the series.
She captioned the post: ‘About last night…fun is an understatement #bigbrother #bigbrotherfinale’
Fans rushed to the comments to express their surprise at being greeted with the man behind the famous voice.
Oti did not reveal the name of the man who speaks in the Diary Room but viewers were still shocked nonetheless.
One wrote: ‘Crazy!! I can’t imagine the voice coming out of that guy’s mouth.’
Another said: ‘I have no idea what I was expecting! But he looks really nice.’
A third said: ‘He’s so cute!’
Famed Geordie Marcus Bentley is the series’ long-running narrator but the man in the photo spoke to contestants directly.

But it was the Ibiza Weekender star, 30, who narrowly beat Nikita Kuzmin , 26, to the crown as he came in second, with Colson Smith coming in third, Louis Walsh fourth and Fern Britton in fifth place

David was left overwhelmed when hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best announced his name as the winner.
