Police in Philadelphia are asking for the public’s help in identifying five suspects who were caught on surveillance video carjacking a middle-aged pizza deliveryman at gunpoint and beating him unconscious.
The Philadelphia Police Department said in a press release accompanying the CCTV footage that the attack took place at around 11pm last Friday at a Lukoil gas station in the Kingsessing neighborhood.
According to police, a 56-year-old deliveryman was dropping off a pizza at the gas station at 5748 Baltimore Avenue when he was ambushed by a group of young men.

In the surveillance video, the young men could be seen milling about outside the gas station and peering through the windows just before the carjacking.
As the deliveryman walks outside and heads towards his car, he is accosted by a suspect who pulls a gun from his waistband, points it at the victim and then pistol-whips him on the back of the head.
The deliveryman collapses unconscious to the pavement, after which a second suspect jumps into the driver’s seat of the victim’s Chevy Prism and speeds away.
Meanwhile, the youth who assaulted the pizzeria employee proceeds to rifle through his pockets, grabs what appears to be a fistful of cash and flees on foot east on Baltimore Avenue, leaving the deliveryman for dead.

The victim, who has not been named, was later rushed to Presbyterian Hospital, where he remained comatose until Monday, having sustained severe head injuries.
Police described the wanted robbers as a group of five black males ranging in age from 14 to 25 years old.
The gun-toting man who assaulted the victim was last seen wearing a black-and-gray hoodie. A second suspect was captured in the video sporting a distinctive red, black and white hoodie with a stylized Audi logo across the front.

A third suspect was last seen riding a bicycle and wearing a purple Duke sweatshirt.
