Celebrities get in on the Thanksgiving holiday spirit on social media

Jennifer Aniston makes enchiladas while the Beckhams are ‘grateful’ as the stars celebrate Thanksgiving

It’s that time of the year when Hollywood stars rediscover the joys of home cooking—or at least, book a personal chef for the day.

And celebrities didn’t disappoint this Thanksgiving, taking to social media to document their forays into the kitchen.

Famous folks like Jennifer Aniston cooked up a storm, and shared it all on Instagram, while others like David Beckham, Cindy Crawford and Demi Moore posted sweet and nostalgic family snaps.

Aniston, who can be considered a newly-minted Instagram goddess, kicked things off with a fun photo gallery posted to her feed of her Wednesday night Friendsgiving meal — which is the somewhat newer tradition of hosting a meal exclusively for friends the day before everyone spends time with family.

Tagging her pal Jimmy Kimmel, she wrote: ‘Ok Jimmy… here are your f**king Friendsgiving enchiladas.’

In her Instagram stories, she posted snippets from a sit-down interview she had with late night funnyman, in which he bemoaned the fact that when Friendsgiving meals mimic those of Thanksgiving, he feels like his actual feast on Turkey Day feels like leftovers.

Kimmel then suggested that Aniston perhaps should try making Mexican food for Friendsgiving, saying that if she does it, everyone will follow — much like her ‘Rachel’ haircut from the Friends era.

And while Thanksgiving may have come particularly late this November, that hasn’t stopped celebrities from the US and beyond to get in on the holiday spirit by sending further well wishes through social media.

Wrote British sports star David Beckham, who lived for years in Los Angeles: ‘Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today. I am grateful for so many amazing memories in the USA, here’s to many more…’

Since Thanksgiving always falls on a Thursday, famous faces like Cindy Crawford and Demi Moore posted ‘throwback Thursday’ (or, #tbt) family photos showing what they are most thankful for — their kids.
