Here, Dr. David Colbert, a New York City-based dermatologist with clients that include Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts and Robin Wright, reveals how celebrities achieve radiant, red carpet-ready complexions.

With packed schedules that include press junkets, red carpets and their after parties and long days on set, we were not surprised to learn that Dr. Colbert’s clients’ number one skin priority is to avoid looking stressed and tired.
‘Stars want a fresh, happy glow that lasts the duration of the marathon of parties and endless paparazzi,’ he said after tending to the complexions of A-listers for the Emmy Awards last week.
To ensure this, stars pay him a visit a month before big red carpet events like the Emmys, and then again two or three days before the ceremony.

Leading up to a big event like a wedding, Dr. Colbert advises eating a diet rich in foods like kale, almonds, white fish, Greek yogurt and olive oil to promote beauty from within.
For a quick boost, the skin expert likes Frownies, patches applied to the area in between the eyes that he says help reduce the appearance of crow’s feet overnight.
‘They target the underlying muscles to assume a wrinkle-free appearance and give an instant smoothing effect,’ he said.
Another way to smooth out the skin is with argan oil. ‘The shimmer effect also gives you a glowing complexion,’ he said.
