Celeste Barber looks pretty in pink at Wellmania premiere

She famously parodies red carpet glamour to her 9.5million Instagram followers.

But Celeste Barber got a taste of the real deal on Tuesday as she stepped out for a special premiere of her new show Wellmania in Sydney’s Bondi Junction.

Adding even more glamour, Celeste styled her shoulder-length bob into loose curls and added a pair of statement golden earrings.

Showing off her natural beauty, Celeste added light makeup including a creamy foundation, lashings of bronzer and deep pink lip gloss.

She popped on black mascara and a sparkling silver eye shadow.

The star added a pair of golden heels to boost her height and wore an ankle bracelet for another stylish touch.

In Wellmania, which begins streaming on March 29, Celeste plays Liv, a woman who embarks on a strict ‘wellness journey’ after a doctor diagnosed her with a ‘catastrophic’ bill of health.

The Netflix series is a major career high for the Aussie comedian, who shares two sons, Lou, 11, and Buddy, eight, with husband Api.

The Letdown star, who started off as an actress in serious roles in shows like All Saints, plays the lead in the Netflix series.

Inspired by Brigid Delaney’s novel Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness, Celeste is also serving as executive producer on the eight-part series.

It is also the perfect fit for the comic as she often mocks celebrities and influencers on Instagram for portraying an unrealistic image of beauty.

And Celeste couldn’t be happier that her social media fame has landed her a show on Netflix.

It comes after Celeste revealed that she did her own stunts in the new comedy.

Appearing on The Project on Monday night, the Australian comedian said she was left bruised after learning aerial silks.

‘The most full-on one I had to do was silks in a gym scene, you know those amazing acrobatic silks where you twirl up,’ she told hosts Waleed Aly and Sarah Harris.

‘I had to go into stunt rehearsals for three days,’ the 40-year-old added.

A type of acrobatic performance, those doing aerial silks must perform tricks in the air while clinging from one or two pieces of fabric hung from a ceiling.

Notoriously strenuous, gymgoers often take up silks to improve their strength and flexibility.

Despite their difficulty, Barber revealed her husband Api Robin had a less than impressed response to her new skill.

‘I watched it with my husband and I was like, “I did all my own stunts,”  and he was like, “when did that stuff happen?”‘

‘I was like “that part where I fell over, three days of rehearsal to do it”. I got all bruised and everything!’

Despite starring on the show, Barber said she has only partaken in one of the show’s wellness trends in real life because she ‘had to’.

‘I had to have a colonic,’ she said. ‘I actually had emergency open heart surgery when I was 25 and my body just freaked out after it and I had to go and get a colonic to do the things that colonics do.’

In a colonic, or colon cleansing, large amounts of water are flushed through the colon through inserting a tube in the rectum.

Proponents of colon cleansing believe they flush toxins from your gastrointestinal tract, however there has been little scientific evidence to support these claims.

Barber told Sarah Harris that though it was a ‘horrible’ procedure that she would ‘never do again’, there were some benefits.

‘I have to say you feel like you’re walking on clouds, it feels amazing. But it’s a whole three week thing where you can’t eat this and you can’t do that.

‘And that’s the thing about the wellness industry, it’s so full on, if you’re doing to do everything it’s a complete lifestyle.’
