Celine Dion touches down in Sydney on private jet ahead of Australian tour

She revealed she would be embarking on a world tour back in January. 

And on Friday, Celine Dion touched down in Sydney in preparation for her first Australian dates in 10 years.

Disembarking from a private jet in a showstopping pink and white tweed coat which boasted a huge collar and ornate flower detail, the powerhouse chanteuse, 50 wasted no time in greeting her adoring fans.

Rocking a knee-length white shirt dress, pink hoop earrings and an eye-catching pair of pink leather thigh-high boots, Celine traveled in a black people carrier from the airport.

And with her hair in a high tight bun, the My Heart Will Go On chart-topper made sure to engage in some quality time with her fans as she leaned out the window of the vehicle to pose for selfies and sign autographs. 

Landing in the Harbour City just hours ahead of her first Australian show at Sydney’s Qudos Arena, the mother of three appeared particularly taken with a mother and her young daughter whom she chatted to animatedly.

Marking her first Australian live performance in 10 years since her 2008 Talking Chances tour, Celine will go on to play dates in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne, before travelling onto New Zealand.

Taking a break from her Las Vegas residency, the singer has maintained a hectic schedule since her husband and manager Rene Angelil died in 2016 after a protracted struggle with throat cancer.

And earlier this year, Celine revealed to The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson the extent of the pain her husband was in before his untimely death and the devastating grief she felt at losing the only man she’s ever ‘loved.’

‘For three years my husband did not have a sip of water or food. He was eating through a tube,’ the native French speaker told journalist Lisa.

She added: ‘The only thing I hoped while he was in three years of agony. I wanted him to live in peace. I wanted him to feel so light and no worries. He had a little heart attack, it’s so quick, he didn’t even feel anything. I thought that he was like liberated from his pain.’

Celine also opened up about the affection they had for one another.

‘He thought me everything. He’s the only man I’ve seen. The only man I’ve loved. The only man I’ve kissed,’ she added 

The singer has three sons with the late music exec – Rene-Charles, 25 and and seven year-old twins Eddy and Nelson
