- Real Madrid face Celta Vigo at the Balaidos Stadium on Sunday evening
- The champions sit fourth in La Liga, 14 points behind leaders Barcelona
- Zinedine Zidane’s men must win both their games in hand to stand any chance
Real Madrid are looking to start the new year on a winning note when they travel to Celta Vigo on Sunday night.
The champions’ hopes of retaining their title suffered a crushing blow when they were beaten 3-0 by Barcelona just before Christmas and they now need something close to a miracle if they are to overhaul their rivals, who are 14 points ahead in La Liga.
Ziedine Zidane’s men must win both their games in hand if they are to close the gap on the top three but it will be no easy task against Celta, who held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
